How to switch your widgets to dark, light, or black

Widget colour is set inside Blank Spaces rather than by your iPhone's system appearance, so changing your phone to dark mode does not change your widgets on its own.

Changing the widget theme

1. Open Blank Spaces.
2. Tap the paintbrush icon in the top right to open Settings.
3. Tap Widget Settings.
4. Choose your widget colour or theme, for example Dark.
5. Save your changes.

If the Home Screen still shows the old colour, remove the widget and add it again.

Making the whole Home Screen match

Changing the widget alone leaves your wallpaper as it was, which is why a dark widget can still sit on a light background.

To match them, set a wallpaper in the same tone under Settings → Wallpaper. A true black wallpaper paired with a dark widget gives the seamless look.
